D. Amoy Kumar, the District Collector of Suryapet, was transferred to Rangareddy district on the 27th of January.

The Chief Secretary of Telangana issued the transfer orders pertaining to Amoy Kumar on the evening of the 27th of January, after the Mayor elections in Suryapet district.

According to the orders, D. Amoy Kumar is the new district collector of Rangareddy district, Telangana.

The decision to do so came after a dispute between K.V.P. Ramachandra Rao, a Member of Parliament (MP) of the Indian National Congress (INC) and Amoy Kumar during the Mayor elections.

According to sources, Mr. Rao was initially given a chance to vote in the Mayor elections as an ex officio member.  However, later, he was denied the right to do so, which led to a heated argument and a dispute between him and Amoy Kumar.

The State Government immediately took action upon the complaint and issued the transfer orders, which came into effect immediately from the 27th of January.

Stay tuned for further updates.
