Telangana CM To Conduct Cabinet Meeting Soon To Discuss COVID-19

K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, is soon going to conduct a Cabinet meeting and discuss the ongoing pandemic illness, the Novel Coronavirus.

The meeting has been organised at 3:00 P.M., at Pragathi Bhavan in Hyderabad, Telangana, today.   

The major topic expected to be discussed during the meeting is the extension of the lockdown.  KCR is expected to announce an extension of the ongoing lockdown as a precautionary measure to control the spread of the Novel Coronavirus.

Since the Nationwide lockdown is scheduled to end on the 14th of April, several state governments announced an extension of the lockdown in their states.

Recently, the Odisha Government and the Punjab Government announced an extension of the lockdown till the 30th of April and 1st of May, respectively in the wake of the pandemic illness.

Similar to Odisha and Punjab, the Telangana Government is also mulling to extend the lockdown for the welfare of the citizens in the State.

KCR conducted a high level meeting with his cabinet ministers and directed  them to overview the situations.

KCR also urged the citizens of Telangana to cooperate and follow the guidelines of the lockdown strictly.  The Telangana Rashtra Samithi also announced to deposit Rs. 1,500 in the bank accounts of the White ration card holders in the State.

KCR said, “The depositing of Rs 1,500 in the bank accounts of White ration card holders has begun on Friday.  Everyone will get the money.”

Telangana is the fifth State with the highest number of COVID-19 infection cases.   The total number of the COVID-19 cases is 487 with 12 deaths and 45 recoveries till date.
