The Telangana Government, on the 12th of April, identified 6 hotspot zones in Mahabubnagar in Telangana.
Strict lockdown guidelines and police officials were deployed to the area to curb the spread of the Novel Coronavirus.
S. Venkat Rao, the District Collector of Mahabubnagar announced sound alert in these areas:
- Nalanda Auto Stand
- Saddalagundu
- Ramaiah Bowli
- Shashab Gutta
- B.K.Reddy Colony
- Kaveramma Peta
The locations were identified by the concerned authority after 8 fresh cases of Novel Coronavirus emerged in the district.
Roads leading to the above mentioned areas were cordoned off completely, residents are not allowed to come outside unless it is a medical emergency and essential commodities were delivered by the government officials.
According to Srinivas Goud, the Excise Minister of Telangana, all the fresh cases are linked with the Tablighi Jamaat Congregation of Delhi. Previously, Mahbubnagar had only 2 cases of Coronavirus, but now the number has increased to 10. As many as 15,000 people are quarantined in the district. There are 3 quarantine centres_ S.V.S. Medical College, Government Medical College and Jayaprakash Narayana Engineering College.
Meanwhile, Telangana reported a total of 531 cases of the Novel Coronavirus infection and 16 deaths till date.
