The Telangana High Court judge, Justice P. Keshava Rao passed away on the 9th of August, while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Hyderabad.
Mr. P. Keshava Rao, 60 years old, was suffering from prolonged illness and was undergoing treatment, when he was declared dead. The hospital confirmed his death at around 4:00 A.M., today morning.
Highlighting his professional achievements, the former Telangana HC Judge had been serving as the high court judge since September 21, 2017.
Mr. Rao started his law practice and enrolled as a member of the Bar Council of Andhra Pradesh in April 1986. He practiced in various branches of law including constitutional, civil, criminal and election matters.
After years of law practice, in March 2010 he was appointed as a special standing counsel for the Central Bureau Investigation (CBI) and continued till April 2016.
He was a judge of the HC of the united Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Court. After the bifurcation of high courts in 2019, P. Keshava Rao served as the Judge of Telangana High Court.
Upon hearing the demise of Justice P. Keshava Rao, Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana and Telangana ministers expressed their condolences. KCR also ordered Mr. Somesh Kumar, the Chief Secretary of Telangana, to make the necessary arrangements for the last rites of Telangana HC Judge P. Keshava Rao.
In addition, the Telangana High Court Registrar General suspended all the work of the Telangana High Court today, on account of the demise of Justice P. Keshava Rao.
The last rites of P. Keshava Rao would be held at 3:00 P.M., at the Jubilee Hills area of Hyderabad. His last rites would be performed with full official honours at Mahaprasthanam Jubilee Hills Crematorium.
