At a time when all the political parties in Telangana are preparing for the upcoming Huzurabad Assembly by election, rumours about a TRS member switching parties made headlines.
Recently, Tatikonda Rajaiah, a former minister of Telangana met with Mr. Anil Kumar, husband of Ms. Y.S.Sharmila, the founder of the YSR Telangana Party (YSRTP.) The meeting was held at Lotus Pond in Hyderabad. The meeting is said to be an important one because during the united Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) (when the State of Telangana was also a part of A.P.,) Tatikonda Rajaiah was a loyal to late Y.S. Rajashekhara Reddy, the former Chief Minister of A.P.
Besides meeting Mr. Anil Kumar, Mr. Tatikonda Rajaiah met Y.S. Sharmila, the Founder and the President of the YSRTP in Hyderabad.
The meeting at a time of the Huzurabad Assembly constituency by poll leads to speculation of Mr. Tatikonda Rajaiah to join the YSRTP.
However, an official announcement is yet to be made, neither Mr. Anil Kumar, nor the TRS MLA commented anything on the same. They said the meeting was a regular routine meeting.
Meanwhile, the Huzurabad by poll is going to be held soon. The Election Commission of India (ECI) is expected to announce the notification regarding the election by the third week of August.
