Telangana Power Demand Hits Record 12,044 MW

Electricity demand in Telangana’s TGSPDCL limits reached a record 12,044 MW on Tuesday, crossing the previous peak of 11,828 MW.

The latest figure is the highest demand recorded in TGSPDCL’s history. The earlier record was reported on September 11.

Greater Hyderabad also recorded high demand. The city’s peak reached 4,072 MW at 6:42 pm on September 28.

Across Telangana, peak power demand stood at 19,133 MW on September 28. Total electricity consumption that day reached 326.70 million units.

Officials said the rise in demand was linked to growing electricity needs in rural areas, including power requirements for paddy and other crops.

The State has been meeting the demand through increased substation capacity and improvements to the power network.

The current State-level record for this financial year remains 19,543 MW, recorded on September 9.
