Telangana State Government to go Cashless

All the Government offices in Telangana state to go cashless from January 2017.

The Chief Secretary of the Telangana State Government K. Pradeep Chandra has asked Government employees to adapt themselves to cashless transactions. He also said the government employees will get their salaries through account deposits and that there would be no cash component in the disbursement of salaries. These steps will be implemented from the month of January in 2017. Also On December 14, the Chief Minister of Telangana Kalvakuntla Chandra Shekhar Rao will launch the TS-Wallet in the state. This launch will be at the Collector’s conference happening on the same day.

Pradeep Chandra also said all those employees in the rural areas who have knowledge of technology will help those that are not technically advanced into taking the cashless route. He also said that with the Centre driving all the states and transactions towards a digital economy, it is time for all citizens, especially officials to attune themselves to working with minimum cash and more online transactions. He said that with the cashless economy the state would tread on a road to becoming corruption free and that would benefit all individuals residing in the Telangana State.

The TS-Wallet, launching in the state on December 14, will be the first event at the Collector’s meeting after the reorganization of the districts in Telangana State.  The Chief Secretary also urged the district collectors to prepare for a comprehensive district development plan based on the local financial sources, geographical needs, irrigation and also other sources.  After Ibrahimpur, two more villages in Telangana have been declared cashless. The two villages Gandhi Nagar and Kasarabad of Suryapet are all set to be declared cashless transaction villages by the Finance Ministry. The Chief Minister in a press conference said that this is the state’s first step towards becoming a cashless State.
