The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) conducted a Cabinet meeting on the 5th of May to discuss the ongoing situation in Telangana due to the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.
The major discussion of today’s Cabinet meeting was the relaxation of the lockdown guidelines, opening of liquor shops in Green Zones, extending the lockdown and other precautionary measures. The State Cabinet is also thinking of increasing the prices of alcohol to generate revenue in the State, especially when the State is suffering through a major economic crisis due to the pandemic Coronavirus illness.
The meeting started at 2:00 P.M., at Pragati Bhavan, Hyderabad, Telangana, Etela Rajender, K.T. Rama Rao, T. Harish Rao and other Cabinet ministers are a part of the meeting, which is underway.
Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Kerala and Karnataka allowed liquor shops to open in their respective States and increased the prices by approximately 70 %.
After the Cabinet meeting, K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana is scheduled to conduct a press meet and brief the media about the Cabinet meeting.
The press meet is scheduled at 6:00 P.M., on the 5th of May.
