After launching the Dalit Bandhu scheme in Telangana, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government is planning to launch a similar scheme for the Backward Class (BCs) in Telangana.

Recently, the Telangana Chief Minister Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao launched the most anticipated and waited Dalit Bandhu scheme to empower the Dalit community in the State. The scheme providing financial assistance to the Dalits began as a pilot project from Vasalmarri Village, Telangana. Under the Dalit Bandhu Scheme (Dalit Empowerment Program) the KCR Government would provide financial assistance to Dalit families. In regard to this, the Telangana Government planned to release Rs. 1,000 crores. The Chandrashekar Rao Government would provide Rs. 10 lakh financial assistance directly in to the bank accounts of Dalit beneficiaries under the Chief Minister Dalit Empowerment Programme.

Now, the KCR Government is preparing strategies and proposals to launch something similar for the BC in Telangana. The name, details and guidelines of the similar scheme is yet to be revealed.

As per the Telangana Government led by the TRS, these welfare schemes aim to empower the socially and economically weaker section of the society. With these schemes, solely for the Dalits, SCs and BCs, they would be able to start their business and be independent financially and live a good life.

Meanwhile, the efforts of the TRS Government at a time of the upcoming Huzurabad Assembly elections is gaining a lot of criticism from the opposition parties. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) is taking a dig at the KCR led Telangana Government for making use of people and these schemes to gain majority of votes in Huzurabad, where a good number of votes are from the Dalit community people. Of the total 2.26 lakh voters, 40,000 voters are from Dalit community in the Huzurabad assembly constituency.

However, the TRS Government denied all the allegations and criticism saying, they are not making efforts to win the elections, but towards the growth and development of the backward class people and Dalits.
