On the 2nd of November, Tuesday, Ms. Y.S. Sharmila, the President of the YSR Telangana Party (YSRTP,) held Nirudyoga Nirahara Deeksha (fast) in Nalgonda district, Telangana.
The hunger strike started at 8:00 A.M., and ended at 6:00 P.M., at Kurmedu Gate, Chintapalli Mandal, Devarakonda constituency, Nalgonda district.
It is to be noted, Ms. Y.S. Sharmila, the President of the YSRTP is protesting against unemployment in the Telugu State, Telangana. In regard to this, she holds a Nirudyoga Nirahara Deeksha (fast) in a village of Telangana every Tuesday. As a practice, Ms. Sharmila holds Nirudyoga Nirahara Deeksha at different villages to highlight the matter of unemployment in Telangana. As a practice, Ms. Sharmila conducts one day fast at villages of Telangana, dedicating the fast to the youths who committed suicide after being disappointed due to unemployment in the State.
This is the 15th week that the President of the YSRTP conducted the Nirudyoga Nirhara Deeksha, raising her voice against the TRS and unemployment issues in the State. The hunger strike event was attended by many YSR Telangana party leaders, activists, women and the unemployed people of the region.
Meanwhile, on the 20th of October, Ms. Y.S. Sharmila launched a padyatra against the misrule of the TRS. Named as ‘Praja Prasthanam’ the padyatra started from the Chevella region of Rangareddy district in Telangana. The reason to launch the padyatra specifically from Chevella is because, the late Y.S. Rajashekhara Reddy also launched his famous padyatra with the same title in 2003.
Meanwhile, during this Praja Prasthanam padayatra, Ms. Y.S.Sharmila would walk 4,000 km covering 16 of the 17 Lok Sabha constituencies and all Assembly constituencies. However, she would not cover Assembly constituencies under the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits.
Everyday, she would begin her padyatra at 8:30 A.M., and would take a break between 12:30 P.M., to 3:00 P.M. She would conclude her padyatra at 6:00 P.M., everyday and would cover an average of 13-15 km. The launch Praja Prasthanam padayatra is expected to continue for a span of 14 months, which is likely to be till December 2022.
Today’s location of weekly Nirudyoga Nirhara Deeksha was conducted during the ongoing padayatra.
