On the 7th of April, India recorded the highest cases of the Wuhan Virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the past 203 days.

As per the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the nation registered 6,050 new single day cases of the Wuhan Virus, with 14 deaths.  States like Kerala, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Gujarat are the largest contributors of the cases, registered in India.

With this, the current positivity rate is at 3.39% with fatality rate at 1.19% whereas the recovery rate is at 98.75%.  Compared to the cases registered on the 6th of April, the nation registered a slight hike of over 600 cases.  On Thursday, India registered 5,335 new cases, which has increased to 6,050 cases in just 24 hours, increasing the active cases from 25,000 to 28,303 cases.  In addition to new cases, the death reported due to the Wuhan  Virus also increased to 14 from the previous 13 deaths, taking the overall tally to 5,30,943.  Speaking in detail, 3 deaths were registered from Maharashtra, 2 each from Karnataka and Rajasthan, 1 each from Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab, and one was settled by Kerala.

Meanwhile, concerned with the constant rise in the Wuhan Virus cases, especially after the experts discovered a new variant, XBB.1.16, the Union Government became cautious.  In regard to this, Mr. Mansukh Mandaviya, the Union Health Minister, is scheduled to chair a high level meeting with the concerned officials and take action amid the rising number of COVID-19 cases.

Furthermore, state governments and the citizens of India are asked to follow all the Coronavirus guidelines and stay cautious to prevent the spread of the deadly virus.
