In Jharkhand, a Hyderabad resident, V. Sarath Babu, was shot dead by Maoists.  The incident occurred in the Hazaribagh district of Jharkhand on the 9th of May, Tuesday. 

According to the sources, the incident occurred when Sarath Babu, who works as a general manager in a company, was traveling to the site office in a friend’s vehicle.  He  was in Jharkhand on contract work and visited the Barkagaon Forest Department guest house, for work.  During his visit, Maoists opened fire on him, killing him on the spot.  His bodyguard, Rajendra Prasad, also sustained serious bullet injuries in the attack.

Sarath Babu is survived by his wife and son. 

Meanwhile, the local police have registered a case and started an investigation into the incident.
