Amaravati: A significant development has emerged in the Kakinada Sea Port irregularities case. The Andhra Pradesh High Court has accepted a petition filed by K.V. Rao, the port owner, to join the ongoing Criminal Investigation Department (CID) proceedings.
The court, during the hearing, directed the CID to submit a counter by the 31st of this month regarding the anticipatory bail plea filed by Vikrant Reddy, the accused in the case. Until then, the court has ordered that no immediate or hasty action be taken against Reddy.
The case involves allegations against Vikrant Reddy for illegally occupying the Kakinada Sea Port, prompting the CID to register a case and initiate an investigation. The High Court has adjourned the anticipatory bail hearing to the 31st, allowing the CID to present its stance before further decisions are made.
This case has drawn attention due to its implications on port operations and the alleged irregularities in port ownership and management. The court’s directive ensures a balanced approach to the legal proceedings while safeguarding the interests of all parties involved.
