Akhanda 2 Gets New Release Date — to Hit Big Screens on December 12
In a dramatic turnaround, the team behind the much-anticipated film Akhanda 2 has officially announced that the movie will now release on December 12, 2025 — a week after it was abruptly pulled from its original December 5 release slot.

The makers, backed by production house 14 Reels Plus Entertainment, took to their official X account on Tuesday night to share the new date along with a fresh poster. They also revealed plans for a grand premiere on December 11, inviting fans to “feel the MASSive power” on the big screen.
The Madras High Court issued a stay order, which forced the team to postpone the film at the last minute. The dispute involved pending dues of ₹28 crore (plus interest) between 14 Reels Plus and Eros International Media Limited, which prevented the film from releasing as scheduled. With the clearance of dues and resolution of the court case, the path is now clear for the film’s release.
Akhanda 2 — the sequel to the 2021 blockbuster Akhanda — reunites Nandamuri Balakrishna with director Boyapati Srinu. The film also stars Samyuktha, Aadhi Pinisetty and Harshaali Malhotra, with music by Thaman S..
Fans can now look forward to experiencing Akhanda 2 on the big screen — this time with wings secured.
