AP To Build Houses Using 3D Printing Technology

Andhra Pradesh will build houses for poor families using 3D concrete-printing technology under the PMAY-G 2.0 scheme.

CM N. Chandrababu Naidu and Union Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan laid the foundation stone for the project at Burripalem village in Guntur district on Sunday.

The state will construct three lakh houses under the scheme. Guntur district has been selected for a national-level pilot project. A total of 117 houses will be built at Burripalem and Obulanaidupalem in Tenali mandal at a cost of ₹14 crore.

The new technology is expected to speed up house construction. The pilot project is planned to be completed in six months. Each house is expected to take around 10 days to build.

The Central Building Research Institute (CBRI) will provide technical supervision for the project.

CM Chandrababu said Andhra Pradesh needs nine lakh houses to provide permanent shelter to homeless people. He said the state government is committed to providing homes for poor families with continued support from the Centre.
