Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has directed officials to expedite the drafting of a bill to establish the ‘Young India Sports University’ and complete the final state sports policy by the end of November. Emphasizing the need for Telangana’s sports policy to lead the nation, he recommended consulting experts and sports professionals on a large scale.

During a review meeting at his residence in Jubilee Hills on Friday, the Chief Minister discussed aspects of the Telangana Sports Policy, including the proposed ‘Young India Physical Education and Sports University,’ ‘Young India Sports Academy,’ and the ‘Sports Authority of Telangana.’ Drawing insights from his visit to South Korea’s National Sports University, he advocated incorporating best practices observed there, as well as studying models from the University of Queensland, Australia.

Reddy also directed officials to organize state, national, and international sports events and to approach the Indian Olympic Association for Telangana to host the National Games within the next two years. Key attendees included Ministers Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, Uttamkumar Reddy, State Sports Authority Chairman Shivsena Reddy, Chief Secretary Shantikumari, and Special Chief Secretary of the Sports Department, Jayesh Ranjan.
