Hyderabad: Megha Engineering Infrastructure Limited (MEIL) has pledged to build the new Young India Skills University, an ambitious project by the Telangana government aimed at providing comprehensive skill training to the youth. As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, MEIL Foundation has committed Rs. 200 crore, including a land donation for constructing the university campus with world-class facilities.
A memorandum of understanding was signed between MEIL and the state government in the presence of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. Leading the MEIL team, MD PV Krishna Reddy met with CM Revanth Reddy and other officials, including Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka and ministers Sridhar Babu, Uttam Kumar Reddy, and Komati Reddy Venkat Reddy, to discuss project details.
The CM expressed gratitude to MEIL for supporting the Skills University’s construction, marking a significant step toward its establishment. The university aims to train 20,000 youth annually in 17 courses, with plans to increase capacity to 100,000. Construction is set to begin on November 8, with facilities including academic and administrative blocks, a library, computer hub, accommodation, sports courts, and a 700-seat auditorium.
