India’s Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 cases are rising day by day.
According to the Union Health Ministry, in the past 24 hours, India recorded 28,903 new COVID-19 cases. This is the 7th consecutive day, India reported more than 20,000 cases. This is the highest daily spike seen in the country so far in 2021.
Besides 28,903 new cases, India also recorded 188 deaths and 17,741 recoveries from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. With this, India has 11,438,738 COVID-19 cases, of which 11,045,284 are recovered/discharged cases, 1,59,044 deceased cases and 2,34,406 active cases.
The updated data is available on the official website of the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW.) Surging for a week now, India’s active cases rate is at 1.96% of the country’s total cases, fatality rate is 0.50 % and recovery rate is 96.60 %.
Meanwhile, India is the only nation with the highest number of vaccine receivers till date.
The vaccination drive which started on the 16th of January, so far administered COVID-19 vaccines to nearly 3.50 crore people across India.
