The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government has decided to vaccinate 100 % of the population of Hyderabad in the next 15 days. In regard to this, the State Government under the supervision of the Telangana Chief Secretary Mr. Somesh Kumar, launched a special vaccination drive on the 23rd of August.
In just three days, a total of 1,333 colonies were given the first doses of COVID-19, making these colonies 100 % vaccinated. In addition, on the 26th of August, residents of 396 colonies received COVID-19 vaccine doses and were declared 100 % vaccinated.
Highlighting the number of people, a total of 1,07,17,310 people received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
Progress made by the Medical Health Department of Telangana in collaboration with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) to achieve the aim of 100% vaccinated Hyderabad:
Number of Colonies taken up for vaccination on the 26th of August : 511
Number of colonies declared as 100% vaccinated on the 26th of August: 396
Cumulative number of colonies taken up for vaccination in the GHMC limit: 1,878
Cumulative number of colonies declared as 100% vaccinated: 1,333
In addition, to ensure the smooth conduct of 100 % vaccine mission in the GHMC, the Telangana Government deployed large manpower.
From the GHMC, a total of 16,185 people were deployed and from the Health Department, a total of 6,016 people were on duty for this special vaccination drive.
In addition to the established vaccine drives, the State Government also deployed mobile vaccine vehicle drives, which would run on wheels to vaccinate a large population of Hyderabad.
Each mobile vaccine vehicle and vaccination centre would have two vaccinators and a data entry operator.
The special drive was launched after the Telangana Chief Secretary (CS) Mr. Somesh Kumar said, in the next 15 days, Hyderabad would be a 100 % vaccinated region of the State. During an interaction with medical experts and Health Department officials, Mr. Somesh Kumar assured to vaccinate every citizen of the City.
The massive vaccination drive started from the 23rd of August and is likely to continue for the next 10 days, aiming for 100 % vaccination of citizens of Hyderabad.
Meanwhile, considering the mentioned progress and facts,it is expected that within next one week, the Telangana Government would achieve its target and would vaccinate 100 % of the population of Hyderabad.
