On the 2nd of September, Friday, the Telangana Police withdrew the permission given to conduct the pre release promotional event of the upcoming Pan India film, Brahmastra.
The event was scheduled to be held on the 2nd of September, at the Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad. At the last moment, ahead of the event, the police declined permission citing the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations, as the reason of the decision.
The Hyderabad Police said they are busy with handling the crowd and smooth Ganesh immersion processions, whereas handling thousands of fans would be difficult at the moment. In addition, organised by the production, Mr. S.S. Rajamouli, Jr. NTR, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Mouni Roy and other stars were scheduled to attend the event. RRR actor Jr. NTR was to arrive as the special guest of the pre release event, which got cancelled at the last moment.
Furthermore, the organisers said the event was cancelled hours before it was set to begin due to ‘unforeseen circumstances.’
Although the pre release event was cancelled amid Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations, there were speculations that the permission was withdrawn just hours before the event due to political reasons.
Meanwhile, Mr. S.S. Rajamouli and Mr. Jr. NTR extended apologies to fans and followers, who expressed dissatisfaction over the cancellation of the event at the Ramoji Film City, in Hyderabad.
“I want to apologize to my fans. I would also like to apologize to National Media and Telugu media,” tweeted Jr. NTR.
On the other hand, set to release on the 22nd of September, the film is being released in South Indian languages by director Mr. S.S. Rajamouli. In addition, Megastar Chiranjeevi lent his voice to the Telugu trailer of Brahmastra. Starring Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, the film is directed by Ayan Mukherjee in Hindi and has a massive budget by production houses like Star Studios, Dharma Productions, Prime Focus and Starlight Pictures.
