Cairo: One killed and five injured in an explosion in front of the Italian consulate in Cairo on Saturday. According to reports, the blast injured two policemen and three passers-by. However, till now no one claimed the responsibility for the explosion.
A security official said that it was a car bomb but there the exact cause for the blast is yet-to-be investigated. The blast had caused severe destruction to the building. It is heard that the attackers had planted the bomb underneath a car near the consulate and then detonated it. Further investigation is underway and more details are still awaited.
