Two militants were killed, on the 5th of March, in an encounter between militants and security forces, in Tral of Pulwama district, Jammu and Kashmir.
The gunfight broke out around 4:30 A.M., after the militants fired at the security forces, after the latter launched a search operation, on the 4th of March, around 8:00 P.M.
The security forces launched a search operation, after receiving an intelligence input regarding the militants hiding in a house in Tral.
According to sources, the gunfight, which started on the morning of the 5th of March, lasted for an hour. There was a blast at the local house where the militants were hiding.
According to security officials, arms and ammunition were also recovered from the encounter spot.
The security forces, the 42 Rashtriya Rifles (RR,) the 180 Bn Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, cordoned off the area and launched a joint search operation.
Although the gunfight between the militants and security officers is over, the search operation is still going on. The identities of the deceased militants are yet to be discovered.
The Jammu and Kashmir authorities suspended the internet services in Pulwama district, Jammu and Kashmir.
The district is said to be on high alert after the Pulwama terror attack, which took place on the 14th of February.
