Delhi: State Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkatreddy has called on Union Roads and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari to expedite the expansion of the Hyderabad-Vijayawada National Highway to six lanes. Speaking to reporters after submitting a petition to Gadkari on Monday, Venkatreddy emphasized the urgency of this project.
“The Hyderabad-Vijayawada national highway is one of the busiest roads in the country and needs to be expanded to six lanes by 2024 by GMR construction company. Rs. 370 crore has been sanctioned to address 17 accident spots, but these measures are not a permanent solution. I urged Gadkari to ensure this route’s safety, and he promised to arrange a meeting on this soon. I also requested the swift completion of the Uppal-Narapalli flyover and the removal of the old contractor. Gadkari has ordered new tenders to be called,” Venkatreddy stated.
During his visit, Venkatreddy also met Union Ministers Bhupender Yadav and Kishan Reddy to highlight the state’s issues. Additionally, Union Minister of State for Home, G. Kishan Reddy, also met with Venkatreddy, who urged them to take initiatives to resolve the state’s problems.
