Delhi: Andhra Pradesh Health Minister Satyakumar has formally requested the central government to allocate ₹1000 crores to the state under the National Health Mission (NHM). After a series of meetings with Union Ministers in Delhi, Satyakumar addressed the media regarding this crucial funding appeal.
The requested funds aim to facilitate the construction of Arogya Mandir buildings, enhancing healthcare infrastructure across Andhra Pradesh. The discussions with central ministers also extended to the current political climate in the state.
Satyakumar highlighted the key points of their meeting, stating, “The central ministers inquired about the state government’s decisions over the past 40 days. Despite the financial strain, we have increased social pensions, introduced a free sand policy, expanded Anna canteens, and initiated a skill census among other measures.”
These initiatives reflect the state government’s commitment to social welfare and development, even amid financial challenges. The outcome of this funding request is awaited with keen interest as it will significantly impact the state’s healthcare and overall welfare programs.
