Amaravati: The Central Government has approved two significant proposals related to the Polavaram project and industrial development in Andhra Pradesh. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu expressed optimism, stating that these decisions will drive the state’s development.
During a media conference at the Secretariat, CM Chandrababu announced that the Centre has allocated ₹12,127 crores for the Polavaram project, with a completion target set for March 2027. He congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for their support. “The Polavaram project, which was delayed due to reverse tendering during the previous regime, is now back on track,” he said. A new diaphragm wall, estimated at ₹992 crores, will be constructed as part of the project’s revival.
In addition, the Centre has sanctioned three industrial corridors in Andhra Pradesh, with a total investment of ₹28,000 crores. These corridors will include industrial hubs in Kadapa’s Kopparthi, Kurnool’s Orvakallu, and a pharma cluster in Nakkapally. CM Chandrababu emphasized that these initiatives mark a significant milestone in the state’s industrial growth.
