Hyderabad: Hyderabad Commissioner Ranganath announced the upcoming establishment of the Hydra Police Station, which will focus on tackling encroachments and environmental conservation. Speaking at a national conference organized by the National Biodiversity Authority and the International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives at a hotel in Begumpet, Ranganath emphasized the importance of protecting and restoring natural resources, particularly ponds and public lands.
Addressing encroachment issues, Ranganath stated, “If anyone tries to occupy even an acre of land, such as at Lotus Pond, Hydra will intervene to stop it.” He assured that the government fully supports Hydra’s actions and highlighted that recent court judgments on demolishing illegal structures have strengthened their resolve.
Ranganath expressed concern over the growing trend of illegal land occupation by wealthy individuals, noting that such encroachments often involve influential political figures. “Both the rich and political parties are primarily responsible for occupying government lands. We will ensure no one is spared,” he said. He also emphasized Hydra’s commitment to addressing complaints swiftly and taking immediate action against violators.
The Hydra Police Station is expected to play a crucial role in protecting public lands and ensuring strict enforcement against illegal structures.
