Karimnagar: Minister Ponnam Prabhakar announced significant reforms in the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (RTC) while launching 33 new electric buses from Karimnagar on Sunday. Speaking at the event, he highlighted the government’s commitment to democracy and public welfare. The minister emphasized that many women have already benefited from free travel services and shared the plan to recruit 3,000 new employees in RTC soon.
He mentioned that RTC will procure new buses through Mahila Sakthi and MEPMA schemes. Additionally, the government will prioritize employee-related issues such as the Pay Revision Commission (PRC) and compassionate appointments.
“RTC has signed an agreement with JBM for the purchase of electric buses. We aim to extend electric bus services to other districts, including Hyderabad. To combat pollution, our goal is to ensure no diesel-powered buses operate inside the Hyderabad Ring Road. We are bringing revolutionary changes and continuously developing RTC services,” Minister Prabhakar said.
These initiatives are part of the government’s broader vision for a cleaner, more efficient public transportation system in Telangana.
