Myanmar: A devastating series of earthquakes has rocked Myanmar, with the death toll rising to 2,056 as rescue teams continue to remove rubble from collapsed buildings. The military government reported that more than 3,900 people have been injured, with 270 still missing. Hospitals are overwhelmed, and the nation is in mourning as survivors search for their loved ones, with many desperately removing debris by hand in hopes of finding people alive.

Three days have passed since the earthquake, and there is growing concern for those trapped beneath the rubble. Despite ongoing rescue operations, many are uncertain about the survival of those still stuck. The situation is dire, with international media reporting that thousands of people are without water, electricity, or basic supplies.

There are increasing doubts about the government’s official figures and its handling of the crisis. The military government has imposed strict control over media and internet usage, hindering the flow of accurate information. Furthermore, they have rejected requests from international journalists to cover the devastation, leading to concerns about transparency.

In Sagaing City, aid workers have reported that eight children and three teachers remain trapped under the rubble of a collapsed high school.

Death Toll Rises in Thailand

Meanwhile, Thailand is also grappling with the aftermath of the earthquakes. The death toll has increased to 20, with rescue efforts continuing at a collapsed skyscraper in Bangkok. As of now, 13 bodies have been recovered from the building, with eight men and five women confirmed dead. Though the situation in Thailand is gradually returning to normal, the collapse has left many concerned about the survival of those still trapped inside.
