Amaravati: The National Institute Ranking Framework (NIRF)-2024, released by the Union Education Department, shows a significant improvement for Andhra Pradesh universities. Andhra University (AU) has bounced back after lagging in the 2019 rankings, showing consistent improvement over the past three years. Notably, Acharya Nagarjuna University (ANIU) has, for the first time, secured a place within the top 100 in the overall rankings, placing 97th. Additionally, it achieved 59th place among universities, a remarkable leap from not being ranked previously.
Sri Venkateswara University maintained its overall rank, though its specific university rank has declined compared to last year. Among engineering colleges, Andhra University College is the only institution to secure a rank within the top 100. The AP Residential Degree College in Nagarjuna Sagar ranked within the 201-300 category.
Newly introduced rankings for state public universities placed Andhra University at 7th, Acharya Nagarjuna University at 20th, and Sri Venkateswara University at 39th within the top 50. Other institutions like JNTU-Anantapur, Padmavathi Mahila University, and Yogi Vemana University ranked within the 51-100 range.
IIT-Tirupati secured 61st in Engineering, while KLU, a private deemed university, ranked 40th overall, 22nd in universities, and 35th in engineering.
