Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy questioned why devotees from the state continue to seek approvals from the Andhra Pradesh government for temple visits, particularly Tirumala. Addressing a gathering, he emphasized that Telangana has its own revered temples, including Yadagirigutta (Yadadri), Bhadrachalam, and historic Shiva temples, asserting that devotees should prioritize local pilgrimage sites instead of frequently visiting Tirumala.
“Why should we always seek permissions? If Andhra Pradesh has TTD (Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams), don’t we have YTD (Yadagirigutta Devasthanam)? Is there no Rama in Bhadrachalam? Do we lack Shiva temples? Telangana boasts a rich cultural and spiritual heritage that must be developed further,” CM Revanth Reddy remarked.
Highlighting Telangana’s rapid economic and industrial progress, he stated that global tech and business giants are now focusing on the state, citing the recent entry of McDonald’s into the Telangana market as an example.
The CM made these remarks during an event where 922 new appointments were officially processed in the Panchayati Raj, Rural Development, and Municipal Administration departments.
