Tadepalli: YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) Krishna District President and former Minister Perni Venkatramaiah (Nani) has launched a strong critique against Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, accusing him of prioritizing privatization over public welfare. Nani claims that Naidu’s administration has failed to generate wealth for the state and has instead sold off public assets to benefit his allies.

Speaking at a press conference at the party’s central office, Nani pointed out that while Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s government has initiated various infrastructure projects, Naidu’s regime has stalled key developments, including the Ramayapatnam, Machilipatnam, and Moolapeta ports, now seeking to privatize them.

Nani expressed concern over the rising electricity tariffs and essential costs under Naidu’s rule, highlighting the increase in electricity sector losses, which ballooned from INR 29,552 crores to INR 86,215 crores during his tenure. He challenged Naidu’s claim of a Supreme Court mandate justifying the tariff hike, calling for transparency in governance.

Additionally, Nani emphasized that while the Jagan administration has moved forward with 17 new medical college projects, Naidu’s government has hindered progress, pushing for privatization instead. He demanded the reversal of recent decisions regarding electricity tariffs, port privatization, and medical college privatization, urging a focus on the public’s needs.
