Hyderabad: Minister Sridhar Babu praised the establishment of BIKKI (Backward Classes Industrialists and Knowledge Initiative) as a significant step in empowering entrepreneurs from weaker sections of society. Speaking at an event organized by the Backward Classes Chamber of Commerce and Industry at Teahub, the minister emphasized the government’s commitment to inclusive development.
Highlighting the government’s achievements, Babu noted that it has been a year since their administration took office, during which they introduced a comprehensive MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) policy. He acknowledged that while implementing these policies has been a challenge, the government is dedicated to providing equal opportunities for the backward classes, who represent over 50% of the population.
The minister revealed plans to conduct a caste census to tailor employment and development programs effectively. Babu assured that the government is open to amending existing laws, with the support of the Center if necessary, to meet the needs of entrepreneurs. He also highlighted efforts to ensure easier access to loans for entrepreneurs and the establishment of a special industrial park for backward-class industrialists. Further, he mentioned initiatives to promote industrial expansion in smaller cities.
