Mumbai: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, speaking in Mumbai for Congress’s election campaign, criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for making what he described as “false allegations” against the Telangana government. Reddy addressed Congress supporters at the PCC office, responding to Modi’s comments made during the Maharashtra election campaign.
Reddy emphasized Telangana’s progress on promises made to farmers, specifically mentioning the waiver of ₹2 lakh in loans for each farmer, totaling ₹17,829 crores for 22 lakh farmers. “We have fulfilled our commitments and are ready to present details if needed,” he stated.
Highlighting employment initiatives, Reddy noted, “In just 10 months, we provided 50,000 government jobs in Telangana.” He also responded to accusations from Maharashtra BJP leaders about Congress’s promises, stressing, “If the PM continues with falsehoods, we will counter with the truth.”
Reddy addressed Congress’s six guarantees, which include a focus on social justice and welfare for farmers. He criticized Modi for prioritizing corporate interests over farmers, alleging that “black laws” were introduced to benefit certain business tycoons. Reddy also claimed that Maharashtra lost 17 major projects to Gujarat due to BJP’s policies.
