Nalgonda: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has vowed to push forward with the Moosi River clean-up, undeterred by any obstacles. He appealed to the residents of Nalgonda, Vikarabad, and Rangareddy districts, as well as local communities, intellectuals, and activists, to unite in support of the project. Reddy announced a massive “Musi Punarujjeeva Sankalpa Padayatra,” which will begin in Vadapally, Nalgonda, on his birthday, November 8, and culminate at Charminar. He aims to rally hundreds of thousands to the cause by January 2025.
Speaking at the padayatra event in Sangem village, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Revanth Reddy condemned the severe pollution in the Moosi River, comparing its effects to that of the Hiroshima-Nagasaki atomic bombings. He cited health risks and crop damage due to contamination, stressing the urgent need for clean water and agricultural conditions in the region.
Local leaders, including Ministers Komatireddy Venkatreddy and Ponnam Prabhakar, as well as area MPs and legislators, joined the event and performed special poojas at Bhimalingam temple before the padayatra commenced.
