KTR Announced Microsoft India Plans To Expand Its Office In Hyderabad

IT Minister K. T. Rama Rao announced Microsoft India would expand its India Development Center (IDC,) located in Hyderabad. The company will set up a fourth building in its 54 acre campus. KTR made the announcement at the inauguration of India’s Microsoft Garage in the city.

The Minister was quoted saying, “I have been informed by the top management team here that the Microsoft IDC in Hyderabad has run out of space and they are currently housing 1,000 people in a leased accommodation. And going further, they plan to accommodate 2,500 more people by setting up a fourth building in the same campus. This shows the growing interest and skill set that the Hyderabad campus is attracting and the commitment that Microsoft has towards this city.”

The Managing Director of Microsoft India (R&D) Anil Bhansali confirmed the development. However, the Director did not mention when the fourth building would be inaugurated. At present, Hyderabad’s Microsoft office employs 4,000 people, the new building will employ more than half of the original count.
