Amaravati: Amidst ongoing heavy rainfall across Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu warned that the downpour is likely to persist for another three days. In response, he held a teleconference with key officials, including the Chief Secretary, Director General of Police, ministers, district collectors, and Superintendents of Police, to assess the situation and coordinate relief efforts.
During the meeting, CM Chandrababu emphasized the importance of maintaining clean drinking water and safe food supplies, especially in light of a recent incident in Alluri district where several individuals fell ill due to contaminated food. He ordered an immediate investigation into the cause and directed officials to provide top-notch medical care to the affected individuals.
The Chief Minister urged officials to remain vigilant and work proactively to mitigate the effects of the heavy rains. He highlighted the need for close coordination between the Irrigation and Revenue Departments to monitor the conditions of ponds and water bodies, which are at risk of overflowing. He also stressed the importance of addressing traffic disruptions in flooded urban areas and implementing traffic diversions where necessary.
Furthermore, CM Chandrababu called for the use of drones in disaster situations to better assess and manage relief operations, ensuring swift government assistance to those in need.
