Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court has criticized the hasty demolitions carried out by the authorities in Aminpur, questioning the aggressive actions taken by Hydra and local officials. The court expressed concerns over the demolitions conducted without proper notice, asking, “Do you give notice on Saturday and demolish on Sunday?”
The case revolves around the demolition of a hospital building in Srikrishnanagar, belonging to Mohammed Rafi and Ganesh Constructions. The petitioners, represented by advocate Narendra Reddy, challenged the actions of the Aminpur Tehsildar and Hydra officials. They argued that a notice issued on September 20 was served late, and demolitions were conducted the next morning, in violation of the court’s previous order dated September 5.
Hydra’s legal representative, Katika Ravinder Reddy, argued that Hydra was merely following a request from the Tehsildar to send personnel and machinery to remove illegal constructions on government land. However, the court pointed out that no action should have been taken until the investigation into the matter was complete.
The High Court has ordered the Tehsildar and Hydra Commissioners to appear on September 30 to explain the demolitions, either in person or online.
