Amaravati: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu emphasized that the Telugu community gained worldwide recognition following the establishment of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). Addressing party activists after registering as a member at the TDP’s central office in Mangalagiri, Naidu called the TDP a “political university” that has nurtured leaders across both Telugu states.
Reflecting on the legacy of TDP founder NT Rama Rao, Naidu stated that the party played a pivotal role in garnering international respect for the Telugu people. He recalled NTR’s motto, “society is the temple and people are gods,” and highlighted the TDP’s commitment to uplifting downtrodden communities.
Naidu noted the launch of a party membership drive, asserting that holding a TDP membership card is a symbol of prestige. He reiterated the party’s focus on youth empowerment and announced various welfare initiatives, including the implementation of free cooking gas cylinders from Deepavali and significant developmental projects in rural areas.
The Chief Minister also promised support for TDP activists facing legal challenges, encouraging them to connect with grassroots communities. “Only those who work hard will be recognized,” he concluded.
