Tadepalli:  The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leaders have strongly condemned the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) for spreading false propaganda regarding the quality of the sacred Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Laddu prasadam. Former ministers Perni Venkatramaiah (Nani), Kodali Venkatramaiah (Nani), and party leader Vallabhaneni Vamsi spoke out against TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu’s baseless allegations, claiming that the ghee used in the Laddu preparation was adulterated with animal fat.

During a press conference at the YSRCP central office, Perni Nani criticized Naidu for insulting millions of devotees and accused him of exploiting religious issues for political gain. He also condemned Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan for supporting these claims, which he said were intended to tarnish the sanctity of Tirumala’s Laddu prasadam.

The YSRCP announced that party workers would perform special prayers at temples across the state on September 28th to “cleanse the sins committed by TDP leaders” against Lord Venkateswara.

Kodali Nani questioned Naidu’s motives, highlighting that the allegations surfaced only after Naidu returned to power, despite previous accusations of ghee adulteration during Naidu’s earlier term as Chief Minister. He further criticized the TDP leadership for not addressing other controversial incidents, including the attack on a Dalit professor by a Janasena MLA and the tearing down of a B.R. Ambedkar poster by MP Raghu Rama Krishnam Raju.

At a separate press conference in Rajahmundry, former YSRCP MP Margani Bharat condemned Chandrababu Naidu’s political tactics. Bharat accused Naidu of degrading political standards and engaging in the unethical purchase of MPs, comparing it to buying cattle at a market. He also expressed concern over the global impact of the TTD Laddu controversy on Hindu sentiments and called for transparency in the investigation.

Bharat demanded an impartial inquiry into the TTD Laddu allegations, expressing doubts about the credibility of the government-formed Special Investigation Team (SIT). He also criticized MP R. Krishnaiah’s recent resignation, calling it unethical and reflecting the deteriorating political atmosphere under the current regime.
