After the Russian Government announced military operations against Ukraine, the Ukraine Government announced “martial law” in the territory.

On the 24th of February, Thursday, Mr. Volodymyr Zelenskiy, the President of Ukraine, declared Martial Law, including ban on public gathering, movement of people, and asking people to stay indoors, across the territory.

During an address to media, Mr. Volodymyr Zelenskiy said, “Dear Ukrainian citizens, this morning President Putin announced a special military operation in Donbas. Russia conducted strikes on our military infrastructure and our border guards. There were blasts heard in many cities of Ukraine.” He further added, “We’re introducing martial law on the whole territory of our country.”

Furthermore, speaking of a solution to the situation, Mr. Volodymyr Zelenskiy said he had spoken to the United States President Mr. Joe Biden. The Ukraine President said, “A minute ago I had a conversation with President Biden. The U.S., have already started uniting international support.”

Asking people to calm down, the Ukraine President said, “No panic. We are strong. We are ready for everything. We will win over everybody because we are Ukraine.”

Meanwhile, in a Facebook post, Mr. Igor Terekhov, the Mayor of Kharkiv, said, “Please do not leave your homes today. Due to the complicated situation, schools, kindergartens and other institutions do not work today — until the situation becomes clearer.” He further added, “At the same time, public transport works as usual. I will keep you informed of what is happening and the actions of city authorities throughout the day.”

Meanwhile, the Russian Government also announced to suspend flights until the 2nd of March. The statement regarding the same read, “In contraction with the difficult situation around Ukraine, from the 24th of February at 3:45 A.M., Moscow time, flights in a number of airports in the South of Russia have been suspended.”

The Russian flights are suspended in Rostov, Krasnodar, Anapa, Gelendzhik, Elista, Stavropol, Belgorod, Bryansk, Oryol, Kursk, Voronezh and Simferopol and Crimea airports.
