Jyotiraditya Scindia, a former member of the Indian National Congress (INC) is expected to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP,) on the 11th of March.

Along with Jyotiraditya Scindia, 21 Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) also submitted their resignations.

According to sources, the BJP is going to nominate Mr. Scindia for the Rajya Sabha elections and honour him with a crucial post in the Party.

With the exit of 21 MLAs and a strong leader of the INC, Jyotiraditya Scindia and the Kamal Nath led INC Government, may lose the position of being the largest Party in Madhya Pradesh (M.P.)

However, Kamal Nath, the Chief Minister of M.P., on the night of the 10th of March, said, “There is nothing to worry about.  We will prove our majority.”

The ruling Government had 120 MLAs, 4 more than the majority mark of 116.  If the resignations are accepted, the INC will lose power.

Considering the situation, both the BJP and the INC kept their MLAs safe in five star hotels at Gurgaon and Rajasthan, respectively.

Meanwhile, if the resignations are accepted following which, the INC would lose its power, the floor test would decide the new Government in M.P.
