Rajnath Singh, the Defence Minister of India, on the 28th of September, alleged Pakistan  is planning another attack on India, similar to the 26/11/08 Mumbai terror attack.

Mr. Singh said, “Our Navy is not a threat to any peace loving nation. The truth is that the Indian Navy wants to build confidence and trust in smaller nations in the Indian Ocean. But some powers are conspiring to launch an attack like the 26/11 one in Mumbai along with our coastal areas. But their intentions and actions will never succeed.”

Rajnath Singh said Pakistan is planning an attack similar to the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack, but they don’t know the Indian Navy is now strong with advanced technology and can fight back.

The statement of the Defence Minister came a day after an intelligence input warned the Indian Government of a potential attack along the Indian coastline by Pakistani terrorists.

Mr. Singh addressed the Naval Dockyard where he was attending the commissioning ceremony of the submarine INS Khanderi.

Moving further, Mr. Singh said, “Pakistan should understand that today, with additions like INS Khanderi, the strong resolve of our government and advancement in naval capacity, we are capable of dealing with a much bigger blow.”

Rajnath Singh expressed happiness and pride about the fact that India is now one of the few countries manufacturing its own nuclear submarines.

Highlighting the addition of INS Khanderi to the Indian Navy, Rajnath Singh said, “The construction of Khanderi not only benefits the shipbuilding industry but also helps evolve a positive culture of stringent quality control and complex engineering. It brings indirect benefits to the economy of the nation and contributes to Make in India and Skill India.”

Admiral Karambir Singh, the Chief of Naval Staff, spoke about INS Khanderi and said 70 % of the Naval budget was spend on the indigenous ship building.

INS Khanderi’s construction started in 2009 by Mazagon Docks Limited (MDL) and was completed in 2017.  After successful trials of INS Khanderi between 2017 and 2019, the Central Government launched the submarine.

INS Khanderi is the second of the six diesel electric Scorpene class submarines which were given to MDL for construction.

On the 28th of September, Rajnath Singh commissioned INS Khanderi into the Indian Navy at an event which was held at the MDL shipyard in Mumbai.
