On Saturday, a 26 year old Sikkim woman was raped by three men in moving car, This incident occurred on the Gurgaon-Delhi border and the woman’s body was dumped in Delhi. She was abducted by the three men outside her home when she was returning from Delhi after meeting a friend.
After meeting a friend at 5 PM and going to a 7:30 PM show, the girl took a cab back to Gurgaon with her friend. At around 1:30 – 2 AM as she was entering her home, three men emerged and forced her into a Swift Dzire. According to a statement by the girl, she was raped in a moving car, taken to Najafgarh and raped again by the three. The girl also said that this ordeal lasted for five hours. When the men planned to kill her, she pleaded otherwise, they then left her on road at 6:30 AM and left.
A passing by biker helped her reach the toll gate, from where she contacted the Delhi Police. She was taken to her home in Gurgaon, where her statement was recorded and sent her to the hospital for medical tests. The police lodged a FIR against the three unknown under sections 365 (kidnapping or abducting with intent to secretly and wrongfully confine person), 376D (gang rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation) at the Sector 17-18 police station.
Sumit Kuhar, Deputy Commissioner of Police said, “A case has been registered against three people. We’ve scanned CCTV footage from various locations where the woman was taken, and have shortlisted the cars in which she could have been abducted and raped. The accused will be arrested soon.” He also added, “We’ve got some important leads, and the accused will be arrested soon.”
This is second such case within a fortnight after the hearing of Nirbhaya case.
