The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS,) on the 22nd of April, extended the duration of home quarantine in the State.

Concerned for the increasing number of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 infection cases, the State Government decided to increase the quarantine duration from 14 to 28 days.

The decision was taken after a few Coronavirus patients are asymptomatic even after 14 days which is making it difficult for the medical staff to identify the infected person.

In many COVID-19 cases, suspects were tested positive after completing a quarantine duration of 14 days.  Following this update, the State Government extended the days which needs to be followed strictly.

Telangana is the 5th State to extend the quarantine period to 28 days.  Odisha, Kerala, Assam and Jharkhand recently extended the quarantine period to 28 days in their respective states.

Meanwhile, as of 7:00 P.M., Telangana reported a total of 945 cases of Novel Coronavirus infection with 23 fatalities.
