The Telangana Government is working to control the deadly Coronavirus in the State, after a positive case was reported by the Union Health Ministry.
The Telangana Health Department formed a team of 200 healthcare workers who would be available, if the virus creates ruckus in the State and spreads rapidly. The team has been formed by the State health officials.
The crack team came after the Directorate of Medical Education (DME) and the Directorate of Health (DH,) directed the State Health officials to form such a team which would be committed to healthcare works and are highly motivated.
The 200 members of the team would undergo training by senior public healthcare workers before joining their healthcare duties like surveillance, handling medical equipment, knowledge of protocols of the Health Ministry and others. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare set protocols for every State Health Department on COVID-19 patients.
Etela Rajender, the Health Minister of Telangana, is supervising all the arrangements of handling the COVID-19 patients and planning to allot 80,000 isolated wards for them.
Mr. Rajender said, “Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao made it clear that he is even ready to provide the empty two bedroom houses that were constructed for urban poor in Hyderabad and surroundings to isolate coronavirus patients. Infrastructure wise, we are far better prepared than any other Indian State.” He further added, ““We will even set the cost of the treatment of suspected COVID-19 patients, and private hospitals cannot charge more than that. The protocols to treat suspected cases come directly from the Health Ministry and private hospitals must follow them. We have also asked them to be transparent and share information related to such patients with us.”
Meanwhile , a team of senior doctors and healthcare officials of Telangana are scheduled to meet the Kerala administration which treated three COVID-19 positive cases. Kerala reported the first positive Coronavirus case of India and treated 3 such cases.
So far, the deadly virus which has no cure killed more than 3,000 people and infected 88,000 people across the world.
