Hyderabad: Former minister and BRS MLA KTR emphasized his commitment to the people of Telangana, whether in the ruling party or opposition. He declared that state interests surpass political interests and vowed full support for the fight against inadequate budget allocations for Telangana.

Speaking in the Legislative Assembly, KTR addressed the issue of “Injustice to Telangana in the Central Budget.” He pointed out that Telangana has been unfairly treated in the recent Union Budget due to the absence of Bharasa in the Lok Sabha. He mentioned that despite having 16 MPs (8 from Congress and 8 from BJP), the state did not receive appropriate funding.

KTR accused the Centre of neglecting Telangana’s needs and highlighted past efforts to secure funds. He recalled boycotting the President’s speech against the Agrarian Acts and staging a dharna in Delhi when the Union Minister demanded oil. KTR stressed that Telangana deserves a prominent position and criticized the lack of national status for key projects like Apparbhadra, Palamuru-Ranga Reddy, and Sitarama.

Despite these challenges, KTR noted significant achievements, such as completing various projects with swift environmental clearances, establishing 157 medical and 156 nursing colleges, and implementing 95% local reservation in government jobs. He credited Telangana as the leading state in terms of per capita income and pointed out that while the Centre did not support the establishment of Gurukula schools, Telangana managed to establish a thousand such schools.

KTR accused CM Revanth Reddy of failing to secure adequate funds from the Union Budget despite numerous trips to Delhi and attempting to mask this failure by instigating debates in the Assembly.
