Hyderabad: BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) took to the social media platform ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) to express his criticism over the reported costs for the beautification of the Musi River. In a series of tweets, KTR pointed out inconsistencies in the projected expenses, accusing the Congress party of inflating the figures.

“First, they said Rs. 50,000 crores for the beautification of Musi. Now, they claim Rs. 1.50 lakh crores. Is it really Rs. 1.50 lakh crores for this project?” KTR tweeted, questioning the sudden hike in costs.

He further contrasted this with the Rs. 80,000 crore spent on the Kaleswaram project, which, he claimed, received little attention from the Congress. “All the farmers affected by the Musi project deserve clarity,” he added, raising concerns about the project’s impact on the farming community.

KTR also questioned the rationale behind turning the Musi River project into something akin to the Thames River in London, referring to the Congress party’s vision. He suggested that the tripling of the estimated costs was evidence of Congress’ “thirst for money” and accused the party of exploiting the project for financial gain.

His remarks have sparked a political debate, with Congress expected to respond to the allegations in the coming days.
