In Telangana’s Hyderabad region, Ms. Sujatha, a former Tahsildar of Shaikpet, who was accused of corruption and was arrested by the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) in 2020, was found dead.
On the 3rd of September, Saturday morning, the City Police found Ms. Sujatha’s dead body under suspicious circumstances at her residence.
Ms. Sujatha was arrested in 2020 by the ACB on corruption charges in a land scam case. She was lodged in the Special Prison for Women at the Chanchalguda District Jail, Telangana. While she was in jail, her husband Mr. Ajay, on the 7th of June 2020, ended his life by jumping from a residential building’s terrace. It is said that after the demise of her husband and life struggles, Ms. Sujatha slipped into depression and even rejected the offer to resume office, after being released from jail. The depression is said to be a major reason for the suspected suicide of Ms. Sujatha, today morning. However, Ms. Sujatha’s family denied suicide rumours and cited dengue and heart attack as the cause of her demise.
As of now, the police have shifted Ms. Sujatha’s body to the State run Gandhi Hospital for postmortem and launched an investigation into the matter.
This is a developing story, stay tuned for further updates.
