Anjani Kumar, the Commissioner of Police of Hyderabad, on the 28th of October, issued a traffic advisory for the citizens of the City.

The advisory was issued in the wake of Sadar Utsav Mela, which is scheduled to be celebrated at YMCA in Narayanguda, Hyderabad.  The Sadar Utsav Mela would begin from 7:00 P.M., and continue till 5:00 A.M., on the 30th of October.

The Sadar Utsav Mela is a traditional event organised by the Yadav community in Hyderabad 2 days after Diwali.  The Sadar festival is also known as Dunnapothula Panduga. On this day, the buffalos are decorated with flowers and paraded on the streets with the crowd dancing and cheering in joy.

The Sadar festival was first celebrated by late Sri Salandri Nyayam Chowdhary Malliaha Yadav in early 1946, which is now a tradition in the Yadav community.  Every year, the community celebrates the event at YMCA Narayanguda, Hyderabad.

According to the advisory, vehicles from Kachiguda X Roads towards YMCA in Narayanguda would not be allowed from 7:00 P.M.

Other areas where vehicles are not allowed are Vittalwadi X Roads towards YMCA, Narayanguda.  Vehicles travelling from this area would be diverted to Ramkote X Roads. Vehicles from Rajmohallah would be diverted to Ramkote X Roads at the Saboo shop and those from Reddy College (Street No. 8) would be diverted to Barkatpura.

Vehicles from Old Barkatpura Post Office would be diverted to Crown Café or Lingampally, vehicles from Old Excise Office lane diverted to Vittalwadi and vehicles from Barkatpura Chaman to Barkatpura X Roads or Tourist Hotel.

Apart from these areas, the public is asked not to use the routes of Brilliant Grammar School (near Narayanguda Flyover.)  Vehicles coming from the Narayanguda Flyover would be diverted to Narayanguda X Roads.

Anjani Kumar urged the public to avoid all the above mentioned routes and take different routes for today and cooperate with the Traffic Police on the 29th of October.
