Uttam Kumar Reddy, the President of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC,) kick started a campaign in Huzurnagar, for the upcoming Huzurnagar Assembly bypoll.

Mr. Reddy, the Member of Parliament (MP) of Nalgonda district, on the 25th of September, visited Huzurnagar and urged the people to vote for the Indian National Congress (INC) in the bypoll.

Uttam Kumar Reddy addressed the Party workers and conducted a meeting at Nakkagudem in Chintalapalem mandal, Huzurnagar.  Uttam Kumar Reddy spoke about the development works initiated by him, like laying of roads, providing lift irrigation worth Rs. 22 crores and others.  During the meeting, he said he contributed to the development of the Constituency when he was the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Huzurnagar.

Mr. Reddy spoke about the services of his family for the welfare and development of the Constituency in the past 30 years.  He concluded the meeting by thanking the local INC leaders, workers, supporters and activists who participated in the meeting.

Uttam Kumar Reddy contested the Telangana Assembly elections in Huzurnagar in 2018 and won.  However, after winning the Telangana Lok Sabha elections from Nalgonda in 2019, Reddy had to resign from the MLA post, due to which, the Huzurnagar constituency is conducting a bypoll.

This time, the INC nominated Padmavathi Reddy, Uttam Kumar Reddy’s wife, as the MLA candidate of the INC from Huzurnagar.

On the other hand, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) is expected to nominate S. Saidi Reddy, a member of the TRS.

The Huzurnagar bypoll is scheduled to be held on the 21st of October and the results will be announced on the 24th of October.

The major parties contesting the Huzurnagar bypoll are the TRS, the INC and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP.)
